About this board

Midsize Truck Forum started in September 2025 because the big truck boards are ninety percent half ton and diesel talk, and a Tacoma owner asking about a leaf spring squeak was getting answers meant for an F-250. This board is only midsize. Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado, Canyon, Frontier, Gladiator, the last of the Dakotas. Most of the members are between San Antonio and the coast, with a few in the Hill Country, one in Alpine, and a scale nerd in Kansas who found us and stayed.

It is run by Alex M., an ag teacher in Floresville who has owned a Tacoma, two Rangers and a Frontier and still has the Frontier. He goes by mod_alex_m on the boards, reads the contact address himself, and is slow about it during stock show season.

The forum is member run. There is no company behind it, nobody gets paid, and nobody who sells trucks or writes loans has a say in what stays up. Members who work at a dealer, a shop or a lender say so in their first post.

The rules, short

• Year, engine and drivetrain in the first line of any truck question. A 2016 and a 2022 with the same badge are different trucks.
• Say what you paid. Buying posts without a number get a mod note asking for one.
• No selling in threads. There is no classifieds board on purpose. Linking a public listing to make a point is fine.
• If you sell trucks, write loans or work at an auction, say so. Posting as a customer when you are not one gets the account removed.
• Mods can move, merge or lock threads and will leave a note saying why.
• Accounts are by request while the bots are what they are. Ask through the contact page.

Votes and ranks

The arrows sort the feed and nothing else. There is no karma and there will not be. Ranks are post counts: Access Cab, then Double Cab, then Long Bed. Members who work on trucks for a living carry a Shop Rat badge instead so you know where the answer came from. Moderators are marked.

What this is not

Not a dealer, not an auction, not a parts store, and not a substitute for the service manual for your VIN. When somebody here gives you a torque spec, a tire pressure or a price, check it before you spend the money.
